Our Mission

Ed Williams has been a volunteer at Community Hope Center for six years. He faithfully carries boxes and items that are placed in the trash bin from the donations door to the warehouse. He makes many, many trips every day with his cart. He enjoys volunteering at CHC because it keeps him busy. He also loves the people that he gets to talk to during the day and they love him.

He has been married to his wife, Wanda for 31 years. He has a son and a daughter and three grandchildren. Ed and Wanda also have two cats named Sammi and Jax. Ed served in the army and his favorite food is fried chicken. His favorite pastime is to watch movies from the 30’s and 40’s. His favorite movie is Casa Blanca.

We really appreciate the time that Ed and Wanda give help others.

Guest Spotlight

Steven and Ruth are very good friends who always come to CHC together. They became friends several years ago when Steven’s beloved dog Lucy died and Ruth helped him find a new pet companion, Katie.

Steven is retired from a now-defunct retailer, and he finds it difficult to cover all his expenses with his decreased pension. “You don’t know what it’s like [to struggle financially] until you go without,” he says.

“The things [CHC] provides makes the difference between someone eating a meal and not eating,” Ruth adds. “The people at CHC are friendly and helpful. They make it all worthwhile.”
