Clients may receive food every other week. Boxes are packed according to the number of individuals in each household. We strive to ensure that each box has a variety of fruits, vegetables, protein, dairy, and other food staples.
Community Hope Center’s food pantry is truly a community effort. Some food donations come from individuals who pick up a few extra canned goods while grocery shopping, children who ask for food donations instead of birthday gifts, church and school food drives, and Boy Scouts food collections. Other donations are from local grocery stores who give excess meat and produce and organized food drives by various civic organizations. CHC also partners with Operation Food Search and Feeding America for large-volume donations.
Community Hope Center is the intersection where it all comes together to combat hunger in our community. In 2014, CHC distributed over $2.6 million in food. This would not be possible without the generosity of our community and the commitment of our volunteers who pick up donations, sort and inspect the food, pack boxes, and distribute all of it to clients.
CHC accepts food donations on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and by appointment.
