Groceries are distributed according to the number of people in each household. We strive to ensure that each box has a variety of fruits, vegetables, protein, dairy, and other food staples.
Community Hope Center’s food pantry is truly a community effort. Some food donations come from individuals who pick up a few extra canned goods while grocery shopping, children who ask for food donations instead of birthday gifts, and church and school food drives. Other donations are received from local grocery stores who give excess meat and produce and organized food drives by various civic organizations. CHC also partners with Operation Food Search, St. Louis Area Food Bank and Midwest Food Bank for large-volume donations.
In 2018, CHC distributed over $2.4 million in food. This would not be possible without the generosity of our community and the commitment of our volunteers who pick up donations, sort and inspect the food, pack boxes, and distribute all of it to our guests.
CHC accepts food donations on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and by appointment.
